While enjoying our countries beautiful beaches, why not take a safari for a weekend? The South of the Dominican Republic is truly the last unexplored area of the island. You won't find long lines or overpriced drinks. Here in the south you find reality. Friendly people, food straight from the earth, plus flora and wildlife you only see behind screens and fences. With over 70 species of birds, crocodiles, iguanas, flamingos, and much more, you will experience nature the way you were meant to.

La Descubierta is the closest pueblo near the entrance of the park. There you have the option of five hotels to stay at, all having the basic ammenities of a private room and bathroom, a fan, emergency backup generators, and a friendly staff. While you are exploring the lake, ask around; there are many more hidden treasure to be found.

Experience a real community for yourself. Serving groups as big as 15, the guides will take you for a boat ride searching for flamingos, endemic birds,and crocodiles. Later they will guide you through the island in the middle of the lake (Isla Cabritos) searching for the ilusive red eyed iguana, the Ricord while enjoying the unique wildlife of the island.
